Monday, Monday
History says that years ago each day had its own task, and so the work got done in a logical, orderly fashion as the week progressed. It went like this:
Monday: Wash Day
Tuesday: Ironing Day
Wednesday: Sewing Day
Thursday: Market Day
Friday: Cleaning Day
Saturday: Baking Day
Sunday: Day of Rest
Logical and orderly....oh my!
As you see above I can't even pour the detergent without making a mess.
I do remember my Mom following the schedule. Do you have a schedule? I seem to do laundry several times a week. If I saved it all for Monday it would be a mountain of clothes. I'm glad to see ironing and sewing day disappear.
Have a good Wash Day all!

No schedule, however this one sounds pretty good to me. Hugs, Marty
I think if I had a schedule, it might be a good thing! LOL! Happy Valentine's Day, Nanny!
I've tried schedules....it never seems to work out...Happy Hearts Day Nanny...
Mine tends to be, dang it, it's laundry time again?!
No schedule here. Laundry day seems to be every other day. It's like the gift that keeps on giving.
If I worked like that, my house would never look completely cleaned up. So it just gets done around here on an "as needed" basis.
I've often thought a schedule might be good, but I'm truly a "fly by the seat of my pants" kind of girl and it works for me.
Can't tell you how many times I too have spilled the detergent...what a mess.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Hugs,
Kat
What was neat about the OLD days schedule...is everyone in the village did the same thing on the same day... you felt like you had company. No schedule for me... love the freedom to do it when I WANT to do it (o:
I think when my children were young I tried to stick to a schedule in order to keep on top of things. Now anything goes! :D
Oh yes, if I were home I would definitely follow a schedule but as it is I"m good to get a chore per day finished never mind planning what that chore might be :)
Not since we retired, but before that my work schedule and required travel made planning difficult. The laundry was always done on Sunday, but other things were done as needs be. Ihope you have a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary
Wash day is everyday around here! Too many dirty clothes! Also market day is about every third day.
I've tried - on at least five different occasions - to create and stick to a schedule for my chores. Just doesn't seem to happen. Maybe one of these days...
