Arboretum

I just thought we had pretty colors in Arkansas. HA......

I wanted to visit the Dallas Arboretum during tulip season for several years but my visits never were at the right time. Sooooo, when I opened my March issue of Southern Living and saw the tulip pages, I knew I couldn't let another year go by without seeing the show!

This morning Lila and I thought we were arriving before the crowd....wrong....at 10:00 AM traffic was lined up in both directions to enter the gates. We were directed to the lower 40 to park. No problem, at least we got in.

To tell you that every color in the rainbow was there and in full bloom would be an understatement. I guess a half million bulbs, primarily tulips gives you a better idea.

I can't wait to share lots of my shots with you next week, after I get home. I did manage to snap a couple of good ones of sweetpea. (it's hard to get an 18 month old to be still, in case you didn't know that)

She made the decision where she would sit and where she would not.

Notice my arm wrapped around Lila to slow down the forward motion.

Once again, we had a fun day. My girl loves to go....go...go!

If you have a chance you really should put Tulip Fest on your agenda. It runs from March 5 thru April 10. I promise you will love it! Make sure you charge your camera battery to the fullest and bring an extra card!

Sunny and 84 degrees....Life Is Good!

Hi Nanny, Wow--what great pictures... Can't wait to see more... Your granddaughter is gorgeous.... AND I think that is the first picture I have ever seen of you... LOVED it...

We will go to Biltmore to see their tulips and spring flowers, and we may go down to Garvin Gardens the end of the month when we are in Arkansas. Won't make it to Dallas this year so I'll count on you to show us lots of pictures.
Hugs,
Betsy

Nanny, you are as adorable as Lila! These are wonderful photos --the riot of colors from all those tulips is so beautiful! We won't see tulips up here until April/May ..I am looking forward to many trips to the botanical gardens this spring.

I would love to see those tulips.. great pictures. Your sweet baby has them beat in the beauty department though (o:
I just caught up here... love your beautiful trees in your region. We are not to that point yet. Tulips coming up... just in time for the spring snow storm that I am sure we will get.
Right now we have high...HIGH winds and fires in the foothills. More than a thousand acres near Golden Colorado. Sad.

What a fun day. Your photos are so pretty and the weather looks perfect! This reminds me of last year's trip to our local tulip festival. I went with my mom and my kids and we had such a nice time. ;)
