My husband is tracking a "Big Buck" and today he invited me to go along......Wants me to shoot the big buck....ok I'm game, so I leave work and head home to get ready. As I was driving down the road, almost to our drive:
These two sweet deer are grazing along side of the road and look up at me as if to say, "hi there". These deer are like pets since we feed them all fall, therefore we drive miles away to hunt nonpets (don't think that is a word but you get the point)
Time passes, we drive to the stand and the view is actually very pretty
Husband is very intent on spotting the big boy!
More time passes and I am bored so I start taking pictures of the lady bug crawling by me...the stand is full of lady bugs....finding a place for the winter I guess....
Just before sunset the deer appeared from the weeds and headed straight for the corn feeder. There was 10 at sunset....
It was such a pretty sight and I "shot" them with my Canon Power Shot/ha
Tomorrow if I am invited I will shoot them with my Rebel and Zoom Lens/ha
I do love the outdoors!
No, the big buck didn't show up....he's still safe!

Being outdoors rocks! Zack and Evan would have been beside themselves at the sight of all those deer! Can't wait to hear the REST of the story... happy zooming. =)
That was quite the adventure & I remember hunting when I was much younger - I gotta buck one time & would NEVER EVER EVER do it again. I don't have a problem w/ people hunting, as long as they don't leave just sport hunt for the antlers & then leave the poor thing lay there! Some people do that & that upsets me! Nice shots!
Hunting with a camera is the best! I hope the big buck stays away (sorry to your husband).
HA! You had me going.
I know hunting is legal, but I don't know how someone can look into a deer's face and shoot it. Abe use to go deer hunting with a bow and arrow. Sitting in Southern Ohio, on a wet cold early morning, he thought this is stupid, I don't want a deer's head, I doubt I would even want to eat it and I could be home with my wife and kids, where it's warm and dry. He cam home and never went hunting again.
Great pics of the deer! I know how important hunting is to control the deer population but it still makes me sad. I could never do it, but best of luck to your hubs. I like your style of photo hunting instead. :-)
Nanny, you are missing out on the Tea. Do hurry!! :)
love the way you shoot (o:
great photos....love the ladybug...
My son in law hunts to feed the hungry . Yes they are beautiful creatures but made for meat to substain the human race. So we let those who can... hunt and those of us who can't stay away. Lol
love your pictures..
