Just a little motivation to start the process of taking the decorations down!!!

I have to admit I do not like packing it all up and storing it for another year....

I am proud when this project is done. To make it enjoyable I watch old movies....today it has been; Forget Paris (haven't seen this one in years), then The Scent of A Woman, (had to sit down for the last hour....love it)

The scent of the turkey boiling is adding to the pleasure........
Do you boil the turkey carcass? Sounds gross but it makes wonderful broth for the future. Today I am going to make soup, instead of freezing it.

Christmas was such a blessing...having everyone together is always so much fun.

Having a new addition to the family makes Christmas even more special! She brought joy to all of us.

There were times that it seemed as though she was thinking....oh my, won't these people please be quiet and let me sleep?

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday week and I look forward to hearing all about it.

Nanny...I just want to whirlwind around this house and put EVERYTHING away and regain order!
My kids freak when I start putting stuff away...but I like your motivation! I think a glass of wine is most certainly in order!!!!
Glad you had a great Christmas!!!

Our stuff comes down on New Year's Day...but it went up later than yours, too! It's always a wonderful feeling when the job is done! :)

Your grandchildren are precious, especially the new baby. The only thing I've taken down so far is the mantle, and that was done before Christmas. Since we celebrated the weekend before, the mantle was basically destroyed after we got into the stockings.

About the pant suit era. I had a really hard time finding a "going away" suit to change into after the wedding. Not sure about how you did it where you grew up, but in Camden, Arkansas, we didn't leave the reception in our wedding clothes.

Anyway, all I could find were pant suits. I finally found a dress with a jacket, but I still wasn't happy with it.

I'm taking inspiration from your post, and this week I plan to find a few things that bring a smile and take down my decorations, too. As much of a chore that it is, I look forward to having the order restored.

Looks like you had a sweet holiday. I love the pictures of all of your grandbabies!

Our tree will come down next weekend, right after New Years. It's hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone for this year.
Your pictures are delightful.
Happy New Year!
Sunny :)

I didn't want to put our stuff away so soon, but needed to make room for all the new toys so it had to go. That's a great picture of the 3 grandkids!
