Hangups!

newspaper by tempstarman

I visited my daughter and family in their new home in "Arkansas" last week...... and the papers have been waiting to be opened. I don't know how long it takes you to read your hometown paper but for me a few minutes will tell me everything I am interested in.

Why do I have to read them in the order that they were delivered. I feel like I am reading a book and it must be done from beginning to end, no flipping pages. I have a friend that told me her grandmother kept the phone book beside her as she read the obituaries, she marked out their name in the phone book as she read them. So funny.

I envision people saying, "I knew a person who had to read her papers in order" ha

Hangups.....we all have them!

That's funny about the phone book. When we are away, we usually cancel home delivery of our newspaper. We can always keep up by reading the paper online while on vacation.

Yep, we all have em, but the phone book thing is new to me... WoW! =)

You asked how long it takes to edit... not very long for me, anymore, unless I can't settle on the look I've created & have to start over... but usually around 15 mins or so... It used to take much longer, but I'm kind of 'starting' to get the hang of textures, now, or I think I am! LoL! =)

Since living out of the US I do all my news reading online.

Ha! Reading the papers in order sounds like something I would do. :)

I like to read papers in order too...maybe because something in a later paper may refer back to an earlier one. :)

It's all just tradition... However we learned to do it is the way we continue to do it...

I don't even get my hometown newspaper anymore... It's been so long that I don't remember anyone anymore much... Besides I get alot of my hometown news through Facebook... ha

Merry Christmas.
Hugs,
Betsy

Have you ever seen how thick the New York Times is? It takes me hours to read it! I often have to skip over so much and then I feel gulity throwing it into the recycle bin.

My favorite day is Wednesday when it has food articles :)

Glad you had a chance to visit Solar (hint to her that some of the rest of us are ready to hear from her!). ;) And, yes, I am enjoying my 'time' to the hilt!! Oh, the days are flying past too quickly. {sigh}

I had to laugh about your need to read in order... so do I. Can't start a book in a series unless it is in order... want the papers in order, too. That is the way they were meant to be, right? ha!

That is pretty funny about the phonebook. I would imagine you would need to live in a very small town to do that. I stopped reading the paper years ago -- I did more flipping through it than actual reading. :/ Have a great weekend. Tammy
