Mixed Veggies

First of all I want to thank you all so very much for your well wishes and kind words.  You will never know how much I appreciate you all.  You are the best!

I've always been told that dreading surgery is the worst part.  I am happy to report that this was so true for me.  Yes, I had pain when I woke up in recovery but 2 sweet pills did the trick and the pain never returned.  I spent hours on the couch with knee elevated. Being catered to by Carrie and Lila couldn't have been more fun.  Meals prepared, dishes done, wow I could get use to this.  I have rested so much that I am about to bust loose and run......well, maybe not yet but I feel sooooo good!

Ice every two hours.....don't know about you but I find that frozen mixed veggies works so much better than ice cubes:

My family use to make fun of me using frozen peas for injuries, now I think they have all made the switch. ha

Caught up on lots of TV shows, read some, cleaned out recipe file.  Next week it's back to work and start on the awful tax preparation!  Ugh!

Once again, thanks to you all!

Oh yes, remember the picture of the eagles I shared recently?  They got a spot on the Little Rock news last night.  There have been as many as 15 spotted nesting in that area.  Traffic is getting congested on the road with cars stopping to photograph them.  I'm sure it will be worse now that it was on the news.  I'll have to go back and see if I can get a shot of them while they are still here.

Have a good weekend all!

Glad to hear from you and glad that things went so well. I remember the ice packs and swelling.. They gave me some kind of packets which I kept in the frig and alternated them on my knee. Had never thought of frozen peas... Great idea!!!!!

I did fine on that surgery, but the pain meds made me sick at my stomach. Once I got off of them, I was fine... BUT--just remember that it will take you awhile to be back 100%... Just be patient and don't expect too much... (Easier said than done!!!! ha)
Hugs,
Betsy

Wow, I'm behind. Didn't see that you had been blogging! It was our pleasure and the least we could do after all you do for us. Glad it was so easy for you!

I am so glad to see your surgery went well, Nanny! I have four torn meniscuses in my knees and i've been told I need surgery to remove them, but I keep putting it off. Maybe someday I'll be brave and have them done.

The kids swim coach always recommended frozen peas. Are frozen vegetables better, I wonder. I'm so glad you're feeling better. Since I've had aching knees since doing that 8 mile walk, I can appreciate having painless knees.
