Central Market

The weeks just go by too fast lately. I had my daughter and granddaughter for a wonderful visit then I drove home with them to Dallas and stayed until Sunday. It is an emotional struggle when you want to be in two places. We had fun (as we always do) shopped a little, watched the heartbreaking Hog game, played with Lila and laughed alot! One thing I love to do in Dallas is go grocery shopping...crazy uh?
But until you grocery shop there you haven't truly shopped/ha. I've always said it is an experience. My favorite is:

The selection is unbelievable. For instance;

Ever heard of a Horned Melon or Budda Hand?

How about a baby pineapple? About the size of your fist.

Enough Cheese to feed a city...

They do a wonderful job of creating very eye catching displays. Next time I'll show you the meat section, Oh My!

Dallas is really a wonderful city and the climate is near perfect. Today it was near 80 and the grass stays green (but needs cutting) almost year round. My kind of weather. Look at their beautiful Saint Augustine grass in October mind you...

Relaxing in the shade.....my girls!

Have a good evening all!

What a super grocery store. I have never seen any of those melons. Very unusual. I grew up just outside of Ft. Worth, havn't been back in years. Your "girls" are just precious, both of them. Glad you had a great time. Hugs, Marty

Don't think they had Central Market when I lived in Dallas many years ago. That food looks yummy.

Well, they were already shelled, and she's had them at my house before or she might have forgotten to shell them.

Nanny, we could talk. It is indeed an emotional dilemma wanting to be in two places at one time. So happy you had time with your two girls! They are beautiful!!

Your photos of Central Market are fabulous! And, I am with you, that place is incredible! I could spend HOURS in there. Wish it were close enough for regular shopping. I am amazed at the products/produce/meat they have available! Hope your re-entry to life at home goes smoothly.

What wonderful produce, everything looks so nice and fresh. I'm happy to see that I'm not the only person that takes their camera to the grocery store! Ha-ha!

I do that too! Every time I go to Texas to visit my daughter, I have to visit the grocery store (and I take pictures, too). They have such unusual, unique things that I don't find here. I understand :)

Sounds like you had a wonderful visit. That is some market. I wouldn't even know what to do with a horned melon or a Budda Hand.
