Flights! Or Not Flights!

Theme Thursday....Flight

This is one flight that I would NOT want to take!!!!

Check out the truck in the background! He had a "birds eye view"
The bad thing is: this guy was spraying chemical on the rice...I wouldn't want to be that close to the stuff!!!! Hope he had his windows up! Crop dusters are a breed all their own!!!! You couldn't pay me enough to fly this close to the ground or power lines........

Next time I am deciding on organic vs non-organic I will picture the image of the cropduster. Yuck! As a professional cropduster you are risking it in the air and by the air you breathe!

Chemicals on rice?

Maybe it was MSG...

LBeau grew up in Newport, Arkansas, right in the middle of rice, cotton and soybean country. During the summer, the crop dusters would spray the whole town with DDT for mosquito control. In Camden, we kids used to chase the "fogging machine."

i bet the guy in truck had a mess to clean up...if i am flying keep me high in the air, unless it is time to land. airial shows are pretty cool to watch but i enjoyed my breakfast the first time. lol.

Yikes! and that poor truck driver...I hope he was/is okay and had his windows rolled up, too!

I have'nt felt safe about the foods we eat for decades...back in the olden golden days, my family had a bountiful and delicious garden! Us kids helped with weeding and picking.

We could pick a tomato and wash it from the garden hose and eat it right there! So good, mmmm.

Great post and I echo the concerns re: the truck driver and our chemically enhanced food supply...

I think I'd rather not know what gets sprayed on our FOOD! Gah! They're dare devils though. Much like those who muster cattle in helicopters on the huge stations over here. Nutjobs.

Those are some scary photos...they have to be dare devils to do that!
Then, I have to ask...do they HAVE to dust the crops?? Those chemicals are YUMMY huh??? YUK!
