So Close and Yet So Far

What a fast 10 days I just experienced. Three days prior to birth of sweetpea, 4 days in hospital, 3 days at home. And now she is already one week old.... I am back at home now and finding it hard to focus on any task today. I couldn't sleep last night for thinking about the sweet little bundle that is a mere 5 1/2 hours away from me. Too far to just drive for a day but yet so close. I am planning my next visit to satisfy my longing...I mean look at this.....how I stay away?

It will be an adjustment for Nanny!!!

Have a great day all!

Awww! I know what you mean - My grandbaby lives in the same town as I do, but I can't see her near often enough!

That photo is PRECIOUS!

My two seem so much closer now that they are only 6 1/2 hours away, but I know what you mean. Too far away to go for a day trip.

What a bundle of joy - I know it was hard to leave! Can't wait to see how she changes over the next weeks. We're counting on you for lots of pictures!

Congratulations on your little one. I would be the same way... "If I leave by 5 am I can get in a good 8 hour visit before I have to come back?"... is this what's happening to you by chance... :)

Beautiful little girl. Yes Grandma, I'm afraid you may be making more trips and staying over night. Five and a half hours is a long drive, especially if you have to drive it alone. Call more often and let the Mommy put the phone close to the baby so you can hear it breathing, sleeping and crying.

We can see one of our baby GS almost every day with windows messenger. Of course he thinks we are video grandparents who live inside a computer screen:) We fly up about 3 months for a weekend so he knows that we are real:) Your new GD is adorable. You are all so blessed.

She is just a gift from Heaven, so pretty! I know you are bursting at the seams with pride. My grandsons are in Dallas and San Antonio, so I only see them a few times a year...very hard. Enjoy your little Sweet Pea!

Oh she's sweet! I'll bet it will be hard for you. I think they need to move back to AR. :)

Congratulations! I, too, had a grandbaby this summer. My first. He is 16 hours of hard driving away and I can hardly stand it!! They are so very precious! Enjoy every moment you can!
