Dandelions

They appear overnight! They seem to like a freshly mown area!
Can you remember how much fun they were to play with? Twirl around while holding at arms length to watch them....blow as hard as you could to empty the flower in one breath........

So dainty, so delicate
How can they grow so fast?
Just as fast they are gone.....

What great memories! I loved playing among the dandelions when I was a kid. We used to make dandelion chains when the flower was in bloom and get all sticky from their milky stems.

I was out squirting some the other day. Our one neighbor has a yard full and they creep over into ours. If I can't dug them out, which is a lot of work, I at least pull the yellow flower off so it can't go to seed for the next year. If you aren't careful, they take over a yard, but once the yellow flower is gone, at least they are green. LOL

Oh yes, fun memories!

If I pick them while they are still yellow, Nugget loves to eat them! :)

Yes---I used to love to blow those white things all over the place. I didn't know at the time --but every single one of those little white things separates and makes another Dandelion.

And now that we are 'big' into our yard ---Dandelions are a NO-NO now for us. George digs them up --root and all almost every day before they go to seed. We laugh and say that we are going on "Dandelion Patrol".... Of course, if our neighbors don't dig theirs up---all of their seeds blow into our yard. It's a no win situation.... ha ha

Hugs,
Betsy

We fight the dandelions and the dandelions win. Oh, brother they're hard to get rid of!

I love the pool landscape border. I CANNOT wait to see the end result. And hopefully the little bluebird nest will be where you can enjoy it while soaking in the sun. What a great view that would be. =)
