Messy!

How did I become so messy? Why do I use every bowl I have to make one casserole? Why am I so slow?

I had our dinner planned and ready to assemble. Pioneer Woman's Chicken Spaghetti. Yum! No big task, pretty simple. Then I started using bowls like crazy and before I knew it the kitchen was awful. Plus it took me forever to boil, chop, stir, grate and finally pour it in the casseroles. I used to be fast and neat in the kitchen, I really did. What happended? It's not age is it? Don't answer that.... Do any of you have these issues?

Luckily this recipe makes enough for dinner tonight and one for the freezer. So some night soon, I'll pop it out of the freezer and hopefully won't make a mess just adding cheese on top and baking.

If you haven't tried this wonderful dish I am including the link here.  I did notice that PW only used 1 bowl, 1 measuring cup, 1 colander, and 1 pan........wow, she's good!

I am SO IN LOVE with PW's recipes. YUM! And, Nanny, my kitchen is always a MESS when I am done. I just read on a blog somewhere that one of the ten most important kitchen rules is to clean as you go...I NEVER do this! And, in the end...it is SUCH a mess!!!
Enjoy your Chicken Spaghetti!

I have the same things happening when I make my mom's chicken spaghetti recipe, too. It's an all-day event, and I have a mess for days to clean up, but it makes enough to feed two dozen people so I bake and take to friends in need. Kudos to PW for limiting her mess. Wish I were that good.

Haha - my kitchen is always messy when I cook :) Maybe it's the sign of a good cook? ;)

I haven't made this recipe yet, but I'll have to give it a try!

I might be the only one who does not like the PW recipes as she uses way too much canned soup in them, which is loaded with salt. I have to be so careful about sodium these days as high blood pressure runs in my family. But I do agree that cooking is easy, it's the clean up that takes so much time and is annoying :O)

I inherited this disorder. Jared says I have yet to master the art of one pot meals :)

Sounds delish and that looks like my kitchen, after I cook any meal! And don't believe everything that you read on blogs! lol

Some of the best dishes we make require lots of pots/pans/dishes... I'm lucky since George cooks and I keep the kitchen clean....

Yours looks wonderful. I'm sure it was worth all of the clean-up work.
Hugs,
Betsy

Nanny, I feel your pain! :-) I have such a tiny kitchen and it's difficult to have it look half way decent while cooking. I also feel that I'm so out of the habit of preparing daily meals and it takes me longer. When I make large quantities like this I share it with my kids & friends...usually it's just cooking for me.

And....don't believe that every kitchen is spotless, ok?

Hope your week is blessed!

Oh please... I lost my comment while doing spell check...
I hate to have all the steps..If I had the money I would buy the stuff already chopped and diced and all that jazz. I really get no joy from all those steps...or from the clean up. I do get tired!
All that said...it looks really yummy. PW is going to be rich enough to have a helper in the kitchen (o:
