Salido Creek

When we had the flooding last month I headed to the creek to see it flowing.  And flowing it was!  There was no one there on this particular day but since the weather has warmed up, I'll bet the rope is being put to the test.

Look at the steps built to get out to the rope....pretty good uh?

Can you just imagine how much fun is had by swinging out and dropping into the fresh cool water? I'm going to have to go back and get some action shots.

Did you ever swim in a creek?  The only time I did was at Eureka Springs where the water is frigid but we had so much fun.

Have a great Friday all.

That water looks deep! I'm a real city girl and never learned how to swim, Nanny. I made sure my kids learned though, by sending them away to camp.

What fun. I grew up swimming in a creek. We would jump off a cliff into pretty deep water...when I think about it now...I think it was pretty dangerous! BUT THE FUN! OH!!! That rope looks very enticing!

There's no way at all I'd swim in that water... too high & the under current scares me to death!!!

We all used to go to a creek near my parent's farm & go swimming... I used to dive off the low water bridge, which nobody could believe cuz it was so shallow, but we started calling it, "Tricia's Creek"!
They messed it up tho by diggin it out & pouring more concrete... it just isn't the same, now!

WELL---I used to do that kind of stuff (idiot-stuff) when I was YOUNG. No longer though... I'd break my leg... ha ha

Get some action shots when you can!!!

Betsy

We had a creek on our farm that we played in all summer... and, yes there was a rope. Lots of flying leaps were made. Not so many by me as by my brothers, who wore the thing out! LOL! I love that we were able to roam and run free!

Nanny, I NEED my sleep! LOL! I think that eliminates me from the creative side! LOL!

Your photo is wonderful and the colors are picture perfect. When I was young I used to swim in a creek. I haven't done that in years. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary

I swam in many places growing up. Heck, when it would flood in Mississippi or Louisiana, we would go wading in it. No way would I do anything like that now.

I just saw your previous post. I clean as I go so when I am finished preparing the meal, the only thing to clean up is the dishes after everyone has eaten. Of course, I have one sink and not a lot of room for stacking stuff so kinda have to be that way.

Hope you are having a good weekend. Tammy

I have not went swimming in a creek, but as a child my brothers and I spend most of our summer days swimming in Chocolate Bayou or the rice canal
The bayou was full of snakes and the rice canal alligators. We thought snakes could not bite you in the water and the alligators slept in the daytime!!!

We had a small creek growing up but nothing like this. The pics make me think of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. =) Love the photo clarity you've gotten by linking up to Flickr! So crisp!

Lovely photos! I grew up on the bayou and we had a rope like that, too. Love those steps.

No, not me! :-) I never learned to swim and there really wasn't a creek around. I'm sure lots of kids have had a blast doing this.
