Shish-Ka-Bob

I don't know why I don't cook ka-bobs more often....cause I love them so very much!
I tried a new marinade that will be used many, many more times. I wanted to share it with you;

Ginger-Soy Marinade

1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 tsp minced fresh ginger
1 tsp freshly grated lemon peel

Place all ingredients in food-safe plastic bag with steak and refrigerate for 6 to 24 hours.

The meat was so tender it was hard to remove it from the skewer without falling apart. I know those little steaks from Sam's are tender and delicious and don't know if the marinade contributed to the tenderness but it was definitely one of the best ka-bobs ever from my grill.

We had a much welcomed relief from the extreme heat today....rain, 75 degrees.....very, very pleasant!
I wish we could have a day like today often.

I think lemon zest wakes up any marinade - those kabobs look delicious!

Once again you have posted a recipe that looks delicious! I know Solar must LOVE when you come for a visit or when she goes home! Nothing like momma's home cooking!

What do you do to get rid of the "mean greens?"

OH! What a delicious combo! Now, I am intrigued by the Sam's steaks? Do you buy them in a box? Or from the fresh meat section? I need to EAT THIS soon!

Amanda, yes it is such a treat to go home and eat in Cafe a la Nanny. Looking forward to a visit next week :) I can't comment on your blog!! That little lion is adorable, oh i wish I could hold him.

Nanny, what steaks are those? Cut detail please.

They are in the fresh meat section, usually next to the rib eyes. They are about the size of a filet, pretty thick, usually in a pack of 4. I cut these in half, like butterflying and then cut in pieces for the skewer. I love Sam's steaks, they are always delicious.

As for the Mean Green....I got all I could find off the plants and squashed, yes squashed them then I sprayed with Fungicide that I had just purchased....luckily! In the past I have dusted with seven dust.

Sounds delish! Looks so tasty too...wish I had one right now. You are so lucky to have had rain and cooler temps ~ these triple digits and high humidity are just miserable.

We are into the triple digits with no hope of relief. Looking for 102 today and tomorrow. I like the heat, but this is too much!

I really have been wanting to eat those...not make them...just eat them...now I think I will have to try (o:

We love them too! I'll have to try the marinade. We like them just as well by putting the ingredients in a grill basket. Ross puts the meat on first then adds the vegetables so everything cooks evenly and NO WORK by skipping the sticks.

The marinade sounds delicious! Every time I eat kabobs, I think, why don't I eat this more often?
