Mouli Julienne

Am I the only one who likes to grate cheese and not use prepackaged?????

There seems to be so much more flavor if you grate your own cheese. How I love my mouli julienne...I have had it for years and don't know if you can still buy anything this handy. It has 3 different size blades and is dishwasher safe...yes...

I have missed my time blogging and commenting for the last several days...life is hectic...hope it settles down soon.

Have a good evening all!

I agree that fresh grated cheese is tastier.
As for this contraption you have here...I have NEVER seen anything like it! Wonder if they ARE still available? Maybe e-bay?

I am basically lazy I guess. It is so easy to buy a bag of shredded cheese. I love the looks of your mexican food. I love rotel, so I will have to try it.

I buy both. In the bag for when I am in a rush but honestly I think that when I buy a better grade of cheese and grate it myself I use less in a recipe as it has more intense flavor. This is so true with parma cheese and other hard cheese.

Sad to say but I have never grated cheese before.

What brand of grater is that?
I think I might just have to try this.
(might this be the Monica coming out in you? tee hee)

That's funny Cindy....I am on my second round of Friends, not watching everyday, but when I have time I watch. Currently on season 5/ha. I do have some Monica in me......

I rarely buy my cheese shredded. It isn't cost effective.

I love your grater! I wish I had a fancy one like this. ;0)

I like cheese anyway I can get it. If I had a piece right now I would offer some to Trixie. Thanks too for visiting. It is nice to see your name there.

I wanted to tell someone who understands more about photography than just pushing the shutter button that your visit will count and help make history. Pick a Peck of Pixels

Now that looks like a handy kitchen tool.

I grate fresh for sure but I do it by hand! Unless, it's going in a casserole, then I buy shredded.

That is a fancy shredder. I could use one of those with all the cheese we eat around here.

The mouli is the greatest grater ever. My mother in law has one and my husband raves about it's simplicity and effectiveness. Looking at ebay for them now, can't find them in the US new, made in France by Moulinex

i use this for shredding carrots for salad and for stir fries. good for beets too. mine has 5 blades. also have a moulinex food mill which i use for mushing up chick peas for hummus. i don't have or need an electric food processor.
