I took this picture on June 16, a mere 3 1/2 weeks ago.....
After 95 - 100 degree weather and "NO RAIN" it now looks like this.....
My pretty dogwood tree has shed most of its leaves and looks like this.....
I don't get down very often, but if anything bothers me, it is seeing all of the beauty in my yard die in July. We got a shower earlier and I could have stood outside in it and not needed to dry off. Most of you know that my idea of a fun day is spent outdoors, mowing and trimming....I just wish it would rain......bring the grass and trees back to life...and maybe me too!

It's true - the summer heat can be brutal on the lawn. I hope you get a good rain shower or two soon!
Oh Nanny, this summer heat is brutal! Maybe some rain will head your way soon!

I agree, Nanny... It does get depressing... I get so upset when the rains just get to us--and then go around us!!!! Darn!
We've been watering our yard this past week--trying to save what we could... We finally got 1/2 inch of rain last night --but we're still over 8 inches behind what is considered normal. We need LOTS more.
Let's both do a rain dance.
Hugs,
Betsy
So sorry. Hope you get rain soon. And if you get rain, then it might get here the next day.
It's raining here AGAIN today. I don't remember our ever having this much rain this time of year. Wish we could share a little with you. Even with the rain, the heat is brutal on the plants. Hope you get some rain soon, Nanny.
I would like to send you some of ours here in Texas also....we are tired of it...
We returned to a yard that was crispy, too. =(
my yard must be a twin sister of your's wish it would rain
We were in much the same condition...UNTIL Friday when we got MUCH rain and it truly was NEEDED.
Hoping some rain comes your way VERY SOON!
