Map Dot

Yes, I live in a small community sometimes called a Map Dot! We have 3 traffic lights, 4 gas stations , 3 banks, 3 dollar stores and one grocery store.  The closing of I40 from Little Rock to Memphis has been an event to say the least.  All west bound traffic has been rerouted through our community.  Poor truckers reported on the evening news that it took them 4 1/2 hours to drive 120 miles yesterday.  The stop lights are not helping.

Traffic was backed up for 8 miles yesterday.........
There was a total of 10 state troopers at two stop lights...directing the truckers. I got a laugh from this man in the middle of the highway, map in hand, getting directions.

As they inch along, they have had ample time to see the countryside and floodwater.

This shot sums it up. Hip boots on sleeves rolled up, trying to save as many homes as possible. These guys are walking up a driveway between the following two houses.

Look at the fence....they just moved in this house recently. For insurance purposes they had to build the foundation up...I know they are thankful!

WOW! I've heard it was really bad, but it's hard to imagine how bad until you see pictures like these. The commander's unit and most of the units up here are heading down soon for a 45 day mission. I'm not sure if he'll be in it or not.

It's just heartbreaking to see people's homes flooded with water like this. Hopefully everyone made it out safely.

Dear GOD IN HEAVEN!!! So I40 was shut down due to high water... I'd say HIGH looking at these pics... what will happen next? I don't know what river you live near, but St Francis runs thru here as well as down there & they had to evac at least 2 whole towns on the river up here... This is unbelievable!!! Have you ever seen the water this high since you've lived in your community?

I watched a video on our news site this morning about the 2 lakes/dams in our area & they said the water got up to the rim of Clearwater spillway, but didn't go over... if that's the case, it's HUNDREDS OF FEET DEEP... I have to get up there & get some pics, although, the water has finally started dropping, it'll still show how deep the water got!

PS You mentioned that you wondered where I got my textures, but I didn't get them from my editing program... I got mine from Shadowhouse Creations - they're all FREE & he has some awesome textures!

Oh my goodness! I didn't realize how bad the flooding was until I saw your pictures! I will be praying that the flood waters go away! I guess Arkansas got all of the rain we're missing in Texas!

Oh man...that is really bad. So how is your house....not flooded I hope..I guess you would have mentioned it. We are still dry here. The mountains have had so much snow though that avalanches are predicted for places that don't usually worry about it. I am not sure what that means yet....funny way to put it.
Great pictures....thanks for making it more personal.

My heart goes out to all the people in the flood path. So very sad! Not just the damage but the wondering what is in the water...all kinds of varmints plus bacteria, etc. Will hold all of you in prayer!
