Sweet....Sweet!

Award winning for their sweetness! If you ever see a Cave City Watermelon sign...STOP.....and buy one! They sell so fast that it is hard to get one. I lucked out yesterday and happened by just as they were putting the sign up.

I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy a big cold slice of watermelon. I remember my granddad slicing his round so that the slice laid flat on the plate. He loved watermelon and I always loved to have a slice with him....lots of salt!

Toolwoman's sweet boys ate their share on the 4th and it was so much fun to watch them enjoy getting sticky with juice running down their arms....I mean that's the only way to enjoy watermelon.

Lila had her first experience with watermelon at the Farmer's Market in Dallas recently....wish I could have seen her first bite of juicy sweet watermelon. Last week when I was visiting in Dallas we went shopping at Central Market and I picked up a sample on a toothpick for her and she said "mmmmm" as she gobbled it down...lol...so being a good nanny I circled back around and got her another sample!

I hope you all are having a good day and staying cool. We had a brief shower earlier and it cooled off.....but then the rain stopped....sun came back out and now it's like a sauna outside....

Oh how I love a good, sweet watermelon! They remind me of being at my Mawsie and Pawsie's house in the summertime. I eat mine by scooping round bites out with a spoon. And lots of salt!

Yum! My dad eats watermelon like your granddad - with salt (and pepper, too!)

Yes... I loooooove watermelon... with salt! I grew up where we would pick them and eat them under the shade tree right there in the field... they just don't taste the same from the grocery, I'd sure like to try one of those Cave City melons! I think Lila would like to try one too! LOL!

Hi Nanny, Where is Cave City??? Arkansas or Texas???? That watermelon sounds tremendous... We like watermelon and it's a huge family tradition for us to eat it on the 4th of July.... I love the new seedless watermelons.

You asked about our waterfall visits. We do research before heading out to search. There are tons of great books available with directions and GPS coordinates... We also check online for some... YES---it takes research. We have seen over 420 now --and some of them many times.

Hugs,
Betsy

LOVE watermelon! I've been craving it all day too and just didn't want to get out in the heat. I do have to run errands in the morning so will definitely purchase one. I know the grandkids love it ~ and yes, so fun to watch them.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed weekend ~

Kids have so much fun with watermelon that I always hate to see the prime season end. Come fall they won't taste like much at all, but for now - they're magnificient. The photos of the children are wonderful. I hope you are having a great day.

One of the best things about summer is watermelon, and it looks like your little ones are enjoying it. They're so adorable!

We have one in our refrigerator and I'm looking forward to sharing it with our granddaughter Avery today. She truly loves it.

I love watermelon and eat it daily, in the summer. I buy a whole one, every week, and cut it into chunks, and keep it in the fridge in an airtight container.
