Eagles

Last week I read in our local paper that a pair of eagles had been spotted at a pond near the city. I forgot all about reading it until I was driving by and saw people with binoculars watching the beautiful birds.

Looks like he (or she?) is standing guard.

They never flew while I was there.  Just sat and looked pretty for the camera!
The pond is fenced and I was quiet a ways from them....hence the quality of zooming...

They sure are beautiful! Mom & dad saw a couple at their farm a couple summers back, but they haven't come back since... I hope nobody shot them!!!

The fog was bad here, too, yesterday... couldn't see very far at all. Can you believe tornadoes & such warm weather in January?! Unbelievable!

Oh thanks for stopping by my blog...yes, I am originally from Dallas, miss it, but we have been in the Chicago area for over 30 years. Love your eagle pics...the only time I have seen them is on a trip to Alaska a few years back. You have some mighty tasty recipes on your blog. May have to try them out.

I have never seen eagles in person. They look lonely in your pictures, or maybe they are just enjoying contemplating nature.

What fun to be able to see eagles around you. I remember how crazy everybody on the tour were to see them in Alaska on the cruise.
